We are excited to host our first family picnic! We are asking for each family to contribute $10 per family to help defray the cost of the picnic shelter reservation. This is a great, private picnic site for our use and there is a large grassy area where kids and parents can play together!
There should be ample parking available and the picnic site has two shelters available. There is a restroom on site.
SPP will provide sandwich items (meat, cheese, sandwich veggies, condiments, rolls, etc) and paper products/utensils. Please bring along a dish or two to share!
What to bring:
- Asking for a $10 donation to cover shelter reservation
- A dish or two to share at the picnic
- Drinks for your family (no alcohol, please)
- Lawn Chairs or picnic blankets
- Lawn Toys
- Your Family!
About The Park:
The Lewis Creek Park and Visitor Center serve as community gathering places for environmental education and recreation. More than 80 percent of the 55-acre park is preserved in its natural condition. The park is situated at the headwaters of Lewis Creek and offers three diverse habitats to explore - wetland, grassland and forest - all accessible by boardwalks and soft-surface trails. Our easily-accessible headwater wetland provides considerable benefits to the community by cooling the waters of Lewis Creek, providing filtration of pollutants, slowing run-off to reduce downstream erosion, and providing valuable wildlife habitat. The picnic shelters are separate from the main Lewis Creek Park with their own parking area/entrance. MyParksandRecreation.com
